Andrew is CEO of Pembroke Investment Managers. He is responsible for executing Pembroke’s strategy, leading the investment team, deal origination and supporting the portfolio companies in the Pembroke VCT fund. Andrew has over 25 years of experience in entrepreneurial ventures across a variety of sectors including health, wellness, hospitality and consumer brands.
Madeleine Lloyd Webber is trustee and Founder of British Eventing Support Trust, lead trustee on the board of The Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation, and the Director and Vice Chairman of Really Useful Group and Really Useful Theatres Ltd. Madeleine has over 20 years’ experience as a charitable trustee and is a passionate believer that giving young people a chance in artistic life and exposing them to professional arts training, instils and enhances a wide range of life skills.
Daniel Peltz is CEO of London Freeholds Ltd. He is a Governor of Birkbeck College and chairs the Estates Strategy Committee. He is an Honorary Fellow of both King’s College and Birkbeck College. He sits on the King’s Campaign Board. He is a Trustee of The National Gallery Foundation, The MCC Foundation, The Anna Freud Centre, The Warburg Institute, the Music in Secondary Schools Trust, and The City of London School Bursary Trust. He is Governor of The Oxford Centre for Hebrew and Jewish Studies at Oxford University. He is a panellist on the Education Panel of The Wolfson Foundation. In 2015 he was awarded the OBE for Philanthropic and Charitable services.
Kadiatu Kanneh-Mason lives in Nottingham and is a former lecturer in English at The University of Birmingham. She has recently published the memoir, House of Music: Raising the Kanneh- Masons. Kadiatu has seven children, all of whom are classical musicians and the family has been the subject of several documentaries. Kadiatu is on the Board of Trustees for ESTA String Teachers Association, The Nottingham Education Trust, Real Talk TV, Music Masters, and on the Advisory Council for the Royal Philharmonic Society. Kadiatu is continuing to write and gives talks, interviews and lectures around the U.K. on diversity in classical music, music education, issues of race and inclusion, literature and parenting.
Truda was Head Teacher at Highbury Grove School, and the driving force behind the development of the Andrew Lloyd Webber Programme that MiSST operates today. Over 12 pioneering years of Truda’s leadership, the school was transformed, earning an Ofsted “Outstanding” rating. By 2012 the school was able to give every student a classical instrument upon admission as well as weekly tuition. Truda has served as a school Head and Governor in primary and secondary schools for over 20 years.
Nicola began learning to play the violin at the age of four. At eight, she became the leader of the National Childrens Orchestra of Great Britain and by the age of nine had passed Grade 8. In September 1997 she began to study at the Yehudi Menuhin School for young musicians under Lord Menuhin and Natasha Boyarskaya.
In May 2004, aged 16, Nicola won the BBC Young Musician of the Year competition. Since then Nicola has been awarded honorary doctorates from Glasgow Caledonian University and Heriot-Watt University as well as an honorary degree from the University of Edinburgh.
Nicola was presented with the Queen's Medal for Music, the youngest of the twelve people to receive the award since it was established in 2005.
Nicola plays the Gariel Stradivarius (1717), courtesy of Jonathan Moulds and practices between three and seven and a half hours a day.
Alongside Nicola's performance career, she is passionate about music education and gives a significant amount of time to this through her work with MiSST and other music organisations.
Nicola's motto is "Enhance your own ability, be the best you can be, but don't keep that for yourself. Share it, expose it, give it and try to enrich other people with what you have managed to achieve."
Jess was the first saxophonist to reach the finals of BBC Young Musician in 2016 and the youngest ever soloist to perform at the Last Night of the Proms. She is also the youngest ever presenter on BBC radio 3 as the host of This Classical Life. Jess is the first ever saxophonist to be signed exclusively to Decca Classics and both of her albums reached No.1 in the UK Classical Music Charts. Her debut album was listed in The Times Top 100 albums of 2019. She has been the recipient of a Classic BRIT Award, has been nominated for The Times Breakthrough Award and was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list 2021 for Services to Music. She is passionate about inspiring and bringing joy to people through music and a passionate advocate for the power of music in society.
Julian Lloyd Webber is a British solo cellist, conductor and broadcaster. As a solo cellist he has performed with many of the world’s greatest orchestras and conductors including the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra and every leading symphony and chamber orchestra in the UK in partnership with such conductors as Sir Georg Solti, Lorin Maazel, Lord Yehudi Menuhin, Sir Neville Marriner, Yevgeny Svetlanov, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Sir Mark Elder and Sir Andrew Davis. He has also collaborated with a wide range of legendary musicians from pianists Sir Clifford Curzon and Murray Perahia to jazz artists Stephane Grappelli and Dame Cleo Laine and rock musician Sir Elton John. Julian founded the UK Government’s In Harmony programme and he continues to Chair Sistema England.
MiSST are thrilled to have Deronne White as our first MiSST Ambassador. Deronne first held a flute and learnt to play through the MiSST Programme and has since gone onto gain a music degree from the Royal College of Music (RCM). During his school career he played for the London Schools’ Symphony Orchestra and the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain. During his time at RCM he has taken part in several performances with the RCM Philharmonic Orchestra which included pieces such as Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No.6 and Mozart’s Symphony No. 35. He also gained opportunities outside of RCM, which included a broadcasted performance on BBC Radio 3 of Errollyn Wallen’s ‘Mighty River’ with Orchestra X at the Hull City Hall, and performed the Brahms’ Requiem with the Brixton Chamber Orchestra. He also plays with the Chineke! Orchestra which is the first professional orchestra in Europe to be made up of majority black, Asian and ethnically diverse musicians. We are incredibly proud of Deronne's achievements and he is such an inspirational role model to the over 8000 students on the programme this year.
Braimah is a dynamic and versatile young violinist, he is a member of the Kanneh-Mason Piano Trio, Cassadó Ensemble and Kaleidoscope Collective. Braimah is an advocate for equal opportunity and diversity in music education and is passionate about music education in schools.
Jason Donovan is a West End actor and singer in his own right. Jason initially achieved fame in the Australian soap series Neighbours. In the UK he has sold over 3 million records. He has also appeared in several stage musicals, most prominently in the lead role of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
